Interactive Latin
Grammar - pyLatinam
Welcome to the web version of pyLatinam. We hope this
tool will help you learn Latin.
You can enter your own words in the forms bellow. Word
of caution: this program is far from being finished and some strange
outputs and errors are likely to occur. It is essential not to take the
returned word forms as valid, because they are created on-the-fly by
the rules laid out in the code of the program still being written.
With the upcoming improvements of the program, the pages
will
create better grammatical outputs. Additional information about this
site is available on pyLatinam Homepage.
Enter and decline own Nouns
How to enter Latin nouns
If you enter nominative only, confirm the above check-box. However, if
you wish to provide full form of the noun, follow the tips:
- Use this form: nominative, genitive ending
/ full genitive, gender. Example: "mare,is,n", "puella,ae,f",
"corpus,oris,n", "vinum,vini,n".
- If the noun has fleeting (moving) "e",
specify full genitive. Example: "liber,libri,m".
- We recommend using full form search.
Enter and conjugate own Verbs
How to enter Latin verbs
If you enter 1st person indicative only, confirm the above check-box.
If you wish to provide a whole verb entry, enter at least 1st person
singular present indicative followed by the infinitive and the number
marking the conjugation. Example: parto,partire,3. Nota
bene: The more information you provide, the more accurate
verb forms will be; for example, if you do not enter participle or
perfect form, the program will "assume" those forms are correct, which
might not be the case. To avoid this, try using full form search.
